Job summary

National Louis University is seeking a Learning Support Specialist (Math) or (Math & Computer Science) to tutor students at the Wheeling campus and online, helping them master math, statistics, financial math, and basic CS as needed. The role includes one-on-one tutoring, small workshops, and progress tracking.

The position emphasizes collaboration with faculty, serving at-risk students, and offering workshops and resources to strengthen student learning across modalities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or Computer Science required.
• 1+ year tutoring or teaching math skills in college math, algebra, statistics, or related content.
• Experience teaching or tutoring in diverse modalities (hybrid/blended, online).
• Experience with diverse backgrounds including multilingual or multidialectal students.
• Basic technology navigation with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and oral communication skills for clear student communication.

Responsibilities

• Tutor general education and advanced math courses at college level, including algebra, statistics, calculus, and related math content.
• Collaborate with faculty to support at-risk students and provide embedded support in online and blended courses.
• Create and present math or computer science workshops and asynchronous resources to help students improve skills.
• Support department projects and promotional efforts with data and guidance from Learning Support leadership.
