Job summary

MGT in Dayton, Ohio is seeking a Math Content Coach on the Turnaround team to coach teachers and school-based staff, analyze standards and data, and design scaffolded, standards-aligned instruction.

You will travel 4–5 days a week to client sites, mentor district and school teams, lead professional development, and contribute to product and process improvements while reporting weekly and monthly progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Five+ years of professional coaching experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

MGT is seeking an experienced education professional to provide coaching and leadership in mathematics as the Math Content Coach on the MGT Turnaround team in Dayton, Ohio. The Math Content Coach will provide coaching, planning and pedagogy support to teachers in math as well as mentor school-based coaches and work in partnership with district coaches. A successful candidate will have a deep understanding of math content, state standards, and data analysis with an instructional background in teaching and coaching.

In this role you will:

• Develop a deep understanding of standards, district expectations, school-site priorities, and student performance trends to support improved mathematics outcomes.
• Analyze state standards, assessment data, and instructional practices to identify opportunities for improved student outcomes.
• Facilitate the design and implementation of scaffolded, standards-aligned instruction across classrooms and schools
• Lead analysis of data and use of data to drive targeted instruction in content area
• Model high-impact instructional strategies and demonstrate effective classroom practices aligned to district initiatives.
• Provide research-based resources, tools, and strategies that support engaging, and rigorous classroom instruction.
• Coach teachers, instructional leaders, and school-based teams through observation, feedback, goal setting, and continuous improvement processes.
• Develop and guide teachers in the development of instructional plans, pacing of lessons and differentiated instruction utilizing effective coaching strategies
• Develop and lead professional development for teachers and staff
• Complete weekly and monthly summaries of work
• Contribute to the continuing development of products and processes to support the work

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• Mathematics endorsement, specialization, or demonstrated expertise in elementary mathematics instruction.
• Strong understanding and proven instructional experience in Math subject area in elementary.
• Five (5) or more years of professional experience coaching teachers, coaches, or leading adults
• Communicate and build relationships with team and clients
• Ability to identify and implement strategies to improve individual and group productivity and content mastery
• Excellent listening, observation, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to travel 4-5 days a week to client and/or school-sites within Dayton, Ohio (on-site)
