Job summary

Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) is seeking a qualified instructor to provide academic instruction and student support in the Math & Computer Science department. The role includes governance participation and efforts to ensure quality and consistency in instruction.

The candidate will teach CS courses, contribute to curriculum maintenance, advise students, and participate in shared governance and applied college service activities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field with at least 20 CS credits.
• Willingness to teach day, evening, weekend, and on/off-campus classes.
• Compliance with PA Child Protective Service Laws.

Responsibilities

• Teaches assigned Computer Science courses.
• Participates in curriculum development and maintenance.
• Provides academic support and advising to students including scheduling office hours.
• Participates in college governance by serving on committees.
• Participates in recruitment and hiring of new faculty on search committees.
• Participates in college and community service activities.
• Keeps students informed about course content, requirements, evaluations, and attendance.
• Maintains scholastic records and scheduled office hours.
• Ensures assigned classes are held as scheduled.
