Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Content Developer (Mathematics) to join the Asset Creation team, developing K-12 assessments for state and district clients. You will combine content expertise with AI-enhanced workflows and collaborate across departments to ensure accessible, standards-based assessments.

Responsibilities include creating test items, coordinating with item writers, and leveraging AI tools to improve content quality while meeting delivery timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, content-specific area, or equivalent experience.
• Five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the field of content-specific area preferred.
• Professional knowledge of content-specific area and educational trends required.
• Some experience in large-scale, educational measurement preferred.
• Demonstrated excellence in AI-supported content development or strong potential to leverage AI in content creation.
• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for education purposes.
• Skill in basic software tools and technology.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item, passage, and test specifications, item development plans, test blueprints, and other documents.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support assessment content development and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with team to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows.
• Help select, assign, manage, and train item writers and educators for item development based on standards.
• Facilitate and support customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Facilitate test construction and review of composed test forms.
• Consult with customers in planning and review meetings.
• Work closely with test development managers, content developers, psychometricians, and other Pearson groups.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies relevant to content creation and assessment.
