Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Content Developer (Mathematics) to join the Asset Creation team in Colorado. You will develop and review math content and assessments for state and district clients, integrating AI where appropriate to enhance quality and accessibility.

You will collaborate with educators, psychometricians, and Pearson colleagues to create standards-aligned items and support test construction across grade levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, content-specific area, or equivalent experience.
• Five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the field preferred.
• Professional knowledge of content-specific area and educational trends required.
• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for education purposes.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills with educators and stakeholders.
• Ability to leverage AI-enabled tools for content development and assessment design.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items, across grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item, passage, and test specifications, item development plans, test blueprints, and other documents.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support development, review, and enhancement of assessment content.
• Collaborate with team members to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows.
• Select, assign, train item/passage writers and educators to develop items.
• Facilitate customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Facilitate test construction and review of composed test forms.
• Consult with customers in planning, status, and review meetings.
• Work with test development managers, other content developers, psychometricians, and Pearson groups.
• Stay current with emerging technologies including AI in content creation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
