Job summary

Grand Canyon University is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach Math Applications on the Traditonal Campus in Phoenix. The course meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 3pm to 7pm, with on-site instruction and active student mentorship.

Ideal candidates hold a MS in Mathematics with Secondary Education certification or an equivalent degree, with preference for a PhD in Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering. This role supports face-to-face teaching in a Christian university setting.

GCU Traditional Campus - Phoenix, AZ: Courses are in-person and on-campus with a target start date in December

This class will meet Monday and Wednesday from 3pm - 7pm

Course: Math Applications

This course covers basic math concepts and operations with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, integers, and rational numbers, proportions, and percentages. Other concepts include algebraic equations, basic trigonometry and the application of math and its use in the real world.

  • Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
  • Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
  • Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
What You Will Bring:
  • Minimum: MS in Mathematics with Secondary Education certification, MS in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Teaching Mathematics possessing a secondary education license OR an MS in Physics, MS in Engineering.
  • Preferred: PhD Mathematics with Secondary Education certification, PhD in Physics, or PhD in any Engineering field.
