Job summary

Grand Canyon University’s College of Engineering and Technology seeks adjunct faculty to teach Part-time, face-to-face at our Phoenix campus. You will engage students in Civil Engineering Foundations, facilitate lectures, and mentor learners in a faith-centered university community.

Preferred candidates hold a PhD or Master’s in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering with civil construction experience; a Bachelor's with industry background is also acceptable.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: PhD or Master's in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field with 3-5 years of civil construction experience.
  • Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field with 5-7 years of industry experience in civil construction.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
  • Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
  • Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University

Course: Civil Engineering Foundations

This course provides an in-depth exploration of civil construction, focusing on the planning, design, and building of public infrastructure projects. Students learn the fundamental principles and methods used to create essential societal structures, including roads, bridges, dams, and water treatment plants. Key aspects of transportation systems and water management are also addressed, equipping participants with the skills necessary to contribute effectively to the development of these crucial projects. This course is suited for students who want to play a significant role in shaping the infrastructure that supports modern society.
