Job summary

Dayton Public Schools is seeking an Academic Coordinator, Math for grades 7-12 to lead district-wide math curriculum development, alignment to standards, and assessment enhancement across schools.

Reporting to the Chief Academic Officer, you will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and stakeholders to design and implement professional development, coaching, data analysis, and targeted instructional strategies to raise student achievement and readiness for college.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education with valid teaching license in content area; supervisory/administrator certification or ability to obtain Alternative Administrators License; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of teaching experience in the content area; urban classroom/administrative experience preferred.
• Documented leadership/supervisory experience in a school setting.
• Knowledge of research-based instructional practices; curriculum development experience preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support implementation of the district curriculum and instructional practices.
• Create and maintain instructional guides for content and grade levels.
• Create and maintain formative common assessments for the content and grade levels.
• Meet with Curriculum Team to define professional development resource needs.
• Develop school intervention plans and provide classroom coaching to teachers.
• Consult with principals to identify needs and remedies for deficiencies.
• Plan, develop and coordinate site-based staff development exercises.
• Coordinate professional learning communities within content areas.
• Coordinate professional development with third-party providers; schedule sessions and track progress.
• Provide coaching notes and feedback; document communications.
