Job summary

WellSpan York Hospital in York, PA is seeking a Unit Secretary/Nursing Support on the Maternity floor. The role provides reception duties for visitors, central contact for calls, and support for patient care, including vital signs, daily living activities, and basic nursing tasks on a 36-hour weekly schedule with a 7am–7pm shift.

The unit handles level one nursery, post-partum, gynecologic and general surgical patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year relevant experience required.
• BLS certification upon hire; CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide general nursing and personal care to patients (bathing, dressing, feeding, etc.).
• Assist in transporting patients for tests or procedures.
• Monitor patient condition and report changes to the team.
• Greet and assist physicians, visitors, patients and staff; orient patients to rooms.
• Enter and retrieve data in electronic records and clinical systems.
