Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Mother Baby Unit in West Chester. The role includes 7:00am - 7:30pm shifts with every third weekend and holiday rotation. The CNA covers basic patient care and unit coordination tasks within a cross-trained environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, vital signs, charting, and collaborating with RNs and staff to ensure high-quality patient care in a busy maternity unit.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 0–1 year of training or experience in an acute care facility; student nurse with hospital-based clinical experience acceptable.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (required).
• Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with patients respectfully, preserving dignity and privacy.
• Assists with bathing, hygiene, and daily care needs.
• Changes bed linens and helps with meals; assists with feeding as needed.
• Obtains vital signs and records weights accurately.
• Communicates patient/unit information to the RN and care team promptly.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely per policy.
