Job summary

Voltava is seeking a Materials Supervisor in Detroit, MI to lead material flow in the manufacturing facility, ensuring materials are delivered safely, accurately, and on time to support production requirements.

You will supervise material handlers, drive inventory accuracy, and coordinate replenishment using FIFO and Kanban, while collaborating with production, shipping, receiving, quality, and supply chain teams to meet customer requirements.

• Experience with material handling, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
• Manufacturing environment experience required.
• Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience with ERP, WMS, RF scanners, and inventory systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily material handling operations and warehouse support activities.
• Lead and develop material handlers to meet safety, quality, delivery and productivity goals.
• Ensure uninterrupted material flow to production areas to prevent downtime.
• Monitor inventory accuracy through scanning, transactions, and cycle counts.
• Coordinate replenishment using FIFO, Kanban, and other controls.
• Investigate shortages, discrepancies, and process issues.
• Ensure safety regulations and policy compliance for equipment.
• Track KPIs including inventory accuracy and delivery performance.
• Support continuous improvement projects to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with production, shipping, receiving, quality and supply chain teams.
