Job description

This position involves overseeing material handling operations, ensuring inventory accuracy, and leading the first shift material handling team. The role requires collaboration with Planning, Procurement, and Operations to support production flow and meet business goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and supervise all materials personnel, including shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
  • Ensure safety standards compliance and promote a safety-first culture.
  • Coordinate workload assignments and monitor execution across shifts.
  • Maintain standard work procedures for process consistency.
  • Manage inventory activities, including cycle counts and system adjustments.
  • Address inventory discrepancies and material shortages through root cause analysis.
  • Partner with Planning and Procurement to align material flow with production schedules.
  • Support continuous improvement activities in the materials area.
  • Develop cross-training plans to enhance team flexibility.
  • Support objectives for inventory accuracy, scrap reduction, and on-time delivery.
Qualifications
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Syteline preferred).
  • Problem-solving skills with sustainable solution implementation.
Experience and Education
  • 3+ years supervisory experience.
  • 3+ years in manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in materials and inventory management preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, materials management, or related field preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • On-site presence required.
