Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Carson, CA, is seeking a Materials Handler to maintain inventory accuracy, move materials, and support efficient manufacturing operations on site.

The role involves shipping/receiving duties, cycle counting, and ensuring orderly material flow from warehouse to production areas. The candidate should have a High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience; ERP/SAP proficiency and ability to use weight scales are preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory accuracy and control of material stores including finished goods and raw materials.
• Package, stage, and ship finished goods; expedite critical shipments when necessary.
• Assist with cycle counting.
• Manage the flow and movement of materials to and from the factory.
• Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement daily through actions.
• Resolve materials-related issues with supervisor/manager interaction.
• Perform other tasks as needed in support of manufacturing operations, customers, and suppliers.
• Comply with all EHS rules and regulations and report incidents to supervisor.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and practice 5S standards to keep area clean daily.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain inventory accuracy and control of material stores including finished goods and raw materials

• Take the initiative to resolve materials related issues with interaction from supervisor/Manager
• Perform other tasks as needed in support of manufacturing operations, customers, and suppliers
• Comply with all EHS rules and regulations and supervisory instructions. Report all incidents including injuries, spills, fires, property damage, and near misses to their supervisor
• Able to work with minimum or no supervision
• Practice 5s standards and keep area clean daily

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-year experience related to materials and/or shipping/receiving
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years’ experience related to materials and/or shipping/receiving in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of ERP and/or SAP systems
• Ability to use electric weight scales

Benefits/Salary:
