Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Shipping and Receiving Clerk to support our aerospace fittings manufacturing facility in California. The role focuses on accurate receipt and shipment of materials, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal procedures.

Responsibilities include pulling inventory, staging orders, documenting movements in ERP systems, and coordinating with Quality/Production/Purchasing to maintain smooth material flow.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in shipping and receiving in aerospace/manufacturing
  • Must read/write English in detail
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Proficient in ERP systems and Windows/Excel

Responsibilities

  • Review work orders and pull inventory to support production needs
  • Load and unload inventory within the stockroom/warehouse
  • Prepare inventory for use in the production process
  • Transport and move inventory around the facility
  • Receive inventory from shipping docks and document it
  • Stage outgoing products for shipment
  • Create packing documents and shipment paperwork
  • Coordinate shipment dates with internal stakeholders
  • Record inventory movements in ERP or similar systems
  • Coordinate with Quality, Production, and Purchasing to ensure material flow
  • Perform periodic inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely

Responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Inventory Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team. This role is critical to supporting the daily operations of our aerospace fittings manufacturing facility by ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant shipment and receipt of materials, parts, and finished products.

Qualifications

Job Responsibilities

  • Reviewing work orders and pulling inventory to support business needs
  • Loading and unloading inventorying within the stockroom/warehouse
  • Preparing inventory for various utilization throughout the production process
  • Transport and move inventory throughout the facility
  • Receiving inventory from shipping docks: consumables, direct material, outside processing.
  • Staging outgoing product for shipments
  • Creating documents and package for shipment
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholder on shipment dates and process
  • Releasing product to the various departments within the facility.
  • Accurately document inventory movements in ERP or inventory systems (such as Oracle, SAP, or similar)
  • Coordinate with internal departments such as Quality, Production, and Purchasing to ensure material flow aligns with production schedules
  • Perform periodic inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies, safety regulations, and aerospace industry standards

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of experience in a shipping and receiving role, preferably in an aerospace or manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to read and write detailed instructions and specifications in English
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of inventory control systems and computer skills (email, Excel, ERP systems)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with aerospace-grade packaging, documentation, and handling standards (e.g., MIL-STD)
  • Knowledge of fittings, hardware, and aerospace part specifications plus understanding of ITAR, EAR and other export compliance regulations
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods
  • Manufacturing / warehouse setting

Compensation Range:

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
