Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Carson, CA is hiring for an Materials/Shipping Associate. This on-site role focuses on maintaining inventory accuracy, staging and shipping finished goods, and supporting cycle counts to ensure smooth production flow.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and 1 year of related experience; preferred is 2 years in manufacturing with ERP/SAP knowledge. Competitive wages with health insurance, 401k matching, holidays and vacation are offered.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory accuracy and control of material stores including finished goods and raw materials.
• Package, stage, and ship finished goods; expedite critical shipments when necessary.
• Assist with cycle counting.
• Responsible for the flow and movement of materials to and from the factory.
• Support continuous improvement efforts in daily activities.
• Resolve materials-related issues with supervision as needed.
• Perform tasks to support manufacturing operations, customers, and suppliers.
• Comply with EHS rules and report incidents to supervisor.
• Work with minimal supervision and maintain 5S standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain inventory accuracy and control of material stores including finished goods and raw materials
• Package, stage, and ship finished goods. When necessary, expedite critical shipments

• Responsible for the flow and movement of materials to and from the factory
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement daily by your actions
• Take the initiative to resolve materials related issues with interaction from supervisor/Manager
• Perform other tasks as needed in support of manufacturing operations, customers, and suppliers
• Comply with all EHS rules and regulations and supervisory instructions. Report all incidents including injuries, spills, fires, property damage, and near misses to their supervisor
• Able to work with minimum or no supervision
• Practice 5s standards and keep area clean daily

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-year experience related to materials and/or shipping/receiving
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years’ experience related to materials and/or shipping/receiving in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of ERP and/or SAP systems
• Ability to use electric weight scales
