Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Carson, CA is seeking a Materials Handler to maintain inventory accuracy and oversee material flow in a full-time, on-site role. The position supports packaging, staging, shipping of finished goods and assists with cycle counting in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory accuracy and control of material stores including finished goods and raw materials.
• Package, stage, and ship finished goods. Expedite critical shipments when necessary.
• Assist with cycle counting.
• Responsible for the flow and movement of materials to and from the factory.
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement daily by your actions.
• Take the initiative to resolve materials related issues with interaction from supervisor/Manager.
• Perform other tasks as needed in support of manufacturing operations, customers, and suppliers.
• Comply with all EHS rules and regulations and supervisory instructions. Report all incidents including injuries, spills, fires, property damage, and near misses to their supervisor.
• Able to work with minimum or no supervision.
• Practice 5s standards and keep area clean daily.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-year experience related to materials and/or shipping/receiving
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years' experience related to materials and/or shipping/receiving in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of ERP and/or SAP systems
• Certified Forklift Operator Certificate
• Ability to use electric weight scales

Benefits/Salary
