Job summary

ProMach’s Ossid division is seeking a Materials Specialist to handle clerical warehouse duties, inventory control, receiving, inspecting, storing, and picking parts for manufacturing and production.

This role reports to the Distribution Manager and requires a high school diploma, 2+ years in manufacturing, forklift certification, ERP and MS Office proficiency, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift certification required or provided on hire.
  • Experience with ERP systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and distribute fabricated components to production.
  • Receive and distribute purchased components ensuring quality.
  • Issue components to machines per production schedule.
  • Load/unload trucks and pallet racks following forklift safety.
  • Process job returns and provide part status information.
  • Ensure total quality service for internal and external customers.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing on continuous improvement initiatives.

Ossid is seeking a Materials Specialist to perform a variety of clerical warehouse duties relating to inventory control, correctly packing and shipping of parts to customers, and receiving incoming parts/equipment/materials. Accurately maintain physical bin inventories. Properly inspect/modify incoming and outgoing parts. Ensure part orders are taken from inventory based on established procedures and correctly shipped and delivered. This position reports to the Distribution Manager.

The Materials Specialist is primarily responsible for the receiving, inspecting, storing, and picking of all parts required for manufacturing and Production.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Receipt and distribution of all fabricated components to the production floor or job cart.
  • Receipt and distribution of all purchased components to the production floor or job cart, assuring quality and conformance to purchase orders.
  • Issue purchased and fabricated components to machines on floor as determined by the production schedule.
  • Loading and unloading of trucks and pallet racks, following forklift safety guidelines.
  • Job returns processing.
  • Respond to assembly personnel’s needs for part status information.
  • Ensure total quality service to all internal and external customers
  • Partner with manufacturing on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Seek out necessary stakeholders for staging resolution to ensure materials for projects are organized and delivered on-time.
  • Additional duties to be assigned by the Distribution Manager or Manufacturing Manager
Requirements:
  • Must have a valid High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a Forklift (training will be provided)
  • Think critically, find unique solutions to changing business needs, and work independently
  • Organizationally aware – understands how material flow impacts engineering, financials and operations
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience using ERP systems
Physical Requirements of position:
  • Ability to regularly lift 10 pounds, frequently lift 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Forklift certification required upon hire
