Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy or Materials Science or Materials Engineering.
• Experience in metallography and structural/physical material evaluation techniques.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently on assigned projects and bring them to close; interpret engineering drawings/models and apply their specific intent.

Responsibilities

• Assess relationship between manufacturing, microstructure and mechanical performance.
• Identify and define problems, collect data and draw valid conclusions.
• Lead execution of material test and development campaigns.
• Create, review and maintain engineering documentation including work instructions, test procedures, and specifications.
• Work in a team environment.
• Lead/direct technicians using both written and verbal instructions.
• Generate charts and graphs in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Self-managed research efforts.
• Project management of research and manufacturing activities.
