Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in Sanford, NC is seeking a Material Process Engineer to develop processes, define controls, and reduce variability in material sourcing and processing. You will form blend tickets, review lab results, and lead process improvements on the shop floor.

You will interface with manufacturing, suppliers and customers, perform engineering trials, and contribute to cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Ceramics, Materials, Chemical, Metallurgical or related Engineering discipline.
• 3–5 years’ experience preferred.
• Hands‑on experience in the airfoils investment casting industry a plus.

Responsibilities

• Formulate blend tickets for mixing raw constituents to meet specs.
• Interface with manufacturing, management, suppliers and customers.
• Review lab test results to ensure readings are within spec and retest if needed.
• Provide hands‑on investigations and problem solving on the shop floor.
• Perform daily audits to ensure procedures are followed on the manufacturing floor.
• Develop processes, controls, and variability reduction strategies in material processing areas.
• Update/revise area procedures to reduce process variation.
• Perform data analysis to identify and control process excursions.
• Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
