Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Associate Material Process Engineer / Material Process Engineer for the Roy, UT location. Roles include evaluating part requests, ensuring design compliance, and supporting material qualification to meet mission requirements.

Position offers entry-level to experienced levels (T01/T02) in a dynamic defense division, with opportunities to work on strategic deterrent programs. Security clearances may be required, and relocation support may be available.

Qualifications

• Must be completing or has completed a degree from an accredited institution.
• Majors include Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).
• The ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing part and material requests against program requirements
• Analyzing designs for compliance to program parts and materials requirements
• Performing parts management tasks
• Understanding how parts and materials are procured and qualified
• Identify what material properties or processes are needed to meet the needs of a design application
• Identify alternate or substitute parts
• Review and/or write material or part specification documents

Education

Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering / Materials Engineering / Materials Science Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Aerospace Engineering
