Troy-Design-and-Manufacturin in Shelbyville, KY is seeking a Material Planning & Logistics Supervisor (MP&L) to oversee movement, storage, and distribution of materials within our automotive manufacturing facility. You will lead a team of material handlers and coordinate with production, purchasing, and logistics to keep manufacturing flowing smoothly.

Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
3+ years of material handling or warehouse supervision experience, preferably in automotive manufacturing or similar high-volume environment.
Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
Knowledge of inventory control principles and ERP/MRP systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and warehouse management systems.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, JIT delivery, and Kanban systems.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, to meet production demands.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily material handling activities, including receiving, storing, kitting, line feeding, and shipping.
Ensure materials are delivered to production lines on time to support just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing requirements.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Materials Planners to avoid shortages or excess stock.
Assign tasks and manage work schedules for material handling team members.
Oversee safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, including OSHA and ISO requirements.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve material flow.
Coordinate with production supervisors, quality control, and procurement to resolve material supply issues.
Monitor KPIs such as delivery accuracy, inventory accuracy, and material handling costs.
Conduct employee training on safe work practices, equipment operation, and company policies.
Lead root cause analysis for material-related delays or quality concerns.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of shipping and receiving documentation.
