Job summary

Dometic is seeking a Senior Materials Planner in Elkhart, IN to ensure right materials are available for uninterrupted production. This role combines material planning with purchasing execution, owning the full cycle from ERP-driven proposals to supplier order management and inbound tracking.

The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years in material planning/purchasing in manufacturing, strong Excel and Power BI skills, and experience with ERP systems (D365 preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience in manufacturing planning.
• 3–5 years of material planning, purchasing, or planner/buyer experience in manufacturing.
• APICS CPIM certification is a plus.
• ERP experience required, preference for Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), with MRP understanding.
• Experience managing supplier relationships: PO management, expediting, vendor communication.
• Experience in complex component-level planning with multiple suppliers and variable lead times.

Responsibilities

• Own inventory levels for assigned categories, maintain ERP parameters, and manage surpluses/shortages.
• Review, analyze, and action ERP-generated purchase proposals; adjust based on demand signals.
• Forecast near-term surpluses/shortages; initiate expedites/de-expedites with suppliers.
• Monitor slow-moving inventory and support disposition actions with Operations Manager.
• Maintain ERP master data for items: lead times, MOQs, supplier assignments, planning parameters.
• Release and manage purchase orders; ensure on-time delivery aligned with production.
• Provide rolling forecasts to suppliers to support production schedule.
• Track past-due orders and escalate at-risk deliveries to protect the line.
• Resolve invoice/goods receipt discrepancies with AP and warehouse.
• Build relationships with suppliers and escalate issues through proper channels.
• Communicate material status to stakeholders; participate in planning meetings.
• Develop Excel-based models and Power BI dashboards to track inventory and PO status.
• Monitor KPIs like inventory days of supply, fill rate, OTIF, lead-time adherence.
• Identify recurring planning/purchasing failures and drive corrective actions.
