Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Contract Material Planner to connect Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, Suppliers, and Operations, ensuring material readiness and mitigating supply chain risks in Mossville, IL. You will actively manage material requirements for prototypes and coordinate with suppliers to meet project milestones.

The role emphasizes strong communication, problem-solving, and data-driven reporting to support NPI and development programs.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED with 2+ years in Supply Chain, Procurement, Materials Management, Manufacturing, Logistics, Engineering Support, Operations, or related field; OR
• Associate's Degree with 0–2 years of relevant experience; OR
• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Track and manage material requirements for prototype and pilot builds.
• Monitor critical material orders and proactively resolve supply constraints, supplier delays, and shortages.
• Create, maintain, and distribute inventory and material status reports for stakeholders.
• Communicate material risks, supplier commitments, and schedule impacts to cross-functional teams and leadership.
• Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure materials are available to support build schedules and project milestones.
• Escalate critical supply chain issues and support mitigation and recovery plans.
• Provide supply chain updates and risk assessments during cross-functional program reviews.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, material visibility, and overall supply chain execution.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and development programs through effective material planning and coordination.
