Job summary

Wabash National Corporation is seeking a Material Planner to manage daily production picks, review BOMs, and coordinate with purchasing to ensure material availability. The role includes converting planned orders into production orders, supporting line planners, and maintaining inventory accuracy on multiple lines and locations.

You will work with AS400, monitor Kanban and negative inventory, and contribute to process improvements while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pre-employment drug screen.
• PIV (power industrial vehicle) training required.
• Basic reading, writing, math, and verbal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Written and verbal communication required.
• Good people skills.
• Ability to learn required computer applications.
• Mathematics skills including basic operations.
• Ability to understand and apply engineering specs, change orders, SOPs.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, enter, and manage daily production picks.
• Review BOMs to ensure material availability for production.
• Pull the schedule and run picks using PLR 100 in AS400.
• Send daily critical parts reports to purchasing.
• Enter MSR/CCR for product issues on lines.
• Identify and report TRS-related issues.
• Assist with entering non-conforming tags and RTW.
• Help locate missing material on lines.
• Verify inventory levels across locations.
• Investigate and resolve negative inventory.
• Perform daily soft counts and correct discrepancies.
• Walk lines to identify excess materials and reclaims.
• Convert released planned orders to production orders.
• Monitor fab planner by closing/releasing planned orders.
• Address shortages by coordinating with production, purchasing, planners.
• Coordinate with production coordinators, supervisors, planners, purchasing.
