Job summary

Sesco Cement seeks a Material Planner in Houston, TX to coordinate packaging, inventory, and dispatch, balancing production output with distribution demands and ensuring inventory stays within warehouse limits.

The role requires strong analytical skills, ERP/MRP experience, and collaboration with Sales, Quality Control, and Plant Operations to optimize material flow and minimize costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, operations, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years of experience in material planning, inventory management, or supply chain operations within fast-moving industrial goods, building materials, or consumer packaged goods.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems (SAP MM/PP or similar system).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Forecast, order, and maintain optimal stock levels for packaging and materials.
• Coordinate production packing scheduling with forecasts and site operations.
• Monitor warehouse capacity to prevent congestion and manage shelf-life/rotation (FIFO).
• Plan dispatch and distribution with logistics to optimize truck loading and minimize delays.
• Track packaging material waste and loss to minimize operational inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Production, Engineering and Finance to align material needs.
