Job summary

SESCO Cement is seeking a Finished Goods Material Planner in Houston, TX to coordinate packaging, inventory, and dispatch of bagged cement while balancing production output with rapid distribution demands.

In this role you will manage packing materials, monitor inventory levels, collaborate with Sales, Quality Control and Plant Operations, and drive continuous improvement in material planning and ERP/MRP processes to reduce costs and ensure on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, operations, or related field.
• 2-5 years of material planning, inventory management, or supply chain operations experience in fast-moving industrial goods.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems (SAP MM/PP or similar).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong forecasting and distribution bottleneck resolution abilities.

Responsibilities

• Forecast, order, and maintain optimal stock levels for packaging materials and pallets.
• Coordinate production and packing schedules with plant supervisor and site operations.
• Monitor warehouse capacity and enforce FIFO to prevent congestion.
• Plan dispatch, scheduling truck loading, and optimize bay utilization.
• Track packaging waste, spillage, and variance to minimize losses.
• Collaborate with Sales, Quality Control, and Plant Operations on demand spikes.
• Maintain and improve material planning strategies and MRP schedules.
• Monitor inventory levels and prevent stockouts or delays.
• Analyze demand trends and supplier lead times for accurate planning.
• Manage purchase orders, track shipments, and expedite deliveries as needed.
• Work with suppliers to resolve delivery issues and quality concerns.
• Maintain ERP/MRP data accuracy and BOMs.
