Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking a Manager of Materials in Chester, VA to lead material flow across production and stocking locations. You will manage control, accuracy, storage, and replenishment, and develop PFEP visuals to optimize processes.

The role requires 8+ years in materials, LEAN experience, and strong cross-functional collaboration with purchasing, scheduling, and engineering. Proficiency in MS Office and MRP knowledge is expected, along with leadership of a 3-5 person team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Supply Chain or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in materials / materials management.
• Minimum 5 years’ LEAN material control experience.

Responsibilities

• Leads Materials and Receiving teams in plant 2.
• Develops, implements, and maintains optimum material flow technologies.
• Create visual representations of material flow and design optimum PFEP, to create optimal flow through the three facilities.
• Tracks inventory trends and reports to management on root cause analysis and problem-solving strategies.
• Bridge between purchasing, scheduling and production planning to ensure material is available in the right production sequence.
• Partner with departments to mitigate shortages.
• Partner with engineering to identify alternate materials if delivery would delay production or lead to an increase in excess inventory.
