Job summary

Dover Food Retail in Chester, VA is seeking a Manager, Materials to lead material control, storage and replenishment across the production facility and external locations. You will develop visual management systems and use PFEP data to support planning with 3–5 direct reports.

You will optimize material flow, coordinate with purchasing, scheduling and production, and partner with engineering to mitigate shortages and evaluate alternate materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Supply Chain or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in materials / materials management.
• Minimum 5 years' experience with LEAN material control systems.

Responsibilities

• Leads Materials and Receiving teams in plant 2.
• Develops, implements, and maintains optimum material flow technologies.
• Creates visual representations of material flow and designs PFEP for optimal flow across facilities.
• Tracks inventory trends and reports root cause analysis and problem-solving strategies.
• Bridge between purchasing, scheduling and production planning to ensure material is available in the right production sequence.
• Partner with departments to mitigate shortages.
• Partner with engineering to identify alternate materials if delivery delays production.
