Position Summary:
This position is responsible for planning, procurement, storage and control of incoming purchased parts as it relates to meeting the needs of the production schedule according to receiving of all purchased parts, assemblies, etc. as listed on the Bill of Materials in order to start production. orders to suppliers including timelines with Production, Shipping, Receiving, Engineering, Inventory and Project Management and Quality Control departments to ensure a timely and accurate procurement process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Support Purchasing Manager, Production and Project Management with all incoming purchased parts.
- Negotiate timeline, cost and manage the flow of purchased parts and finished goods coming in and out of the facility to meet projects on-time, on-budget and on-spec
- Assist in identifying risks and use appropriate methods to maintain a project’s critical path
- Directs production and inventory control, shipping and receiving, and materials storage.
- Directs production planning and scheduling based on sales forecasts.
- Maintains inventory levels to ensure deliveries occur within customer timelines.
- Maintains and ensures accuracy of the perpetual inventory system.
- Works with purchasing department to schedule delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Identifies opportunities to reduce transportation costs and charges.
- Manages and monitors storage of purchased parts and finished goods.
- Performs write-offs on damaged or obsolete inventory to reflect accurate value of inventory.
- Establishes procedures for conducting and valuing year-end physical inventory.
- Coordinate a wide variety of functions within the company to provide liaison support during pre-delivery time including activities within order processing, customer relations and sales support
- Manage flow of supplies based on production needs and according to master schedule
- Work with Inventory department to maintain accurate information regarding pricing, inventory stock levels, releases, order status within automated ERP system
- Work with cross function teams to identify and define customer and project requirements that clearly layout customer expectations to all parties at SAI.
- Ensure that all contract administration procedures are followed and executed in a professional manner.
- Regular in-person attendance is an essential function of this job.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field from an accredited university
- 3-5 years experience in materials management, inventory control, or logistics required, specifically in manufacturing is a plus
- Prior supervisory or managerial experience
- Certifications like APICS CPIM are preferred
- Supply chain or previous experience in Outsourcing
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must be able to read, write and converse fluently in English with the level of competency that will permit the applicant to function in the position.
- Proven leadership skills to manage, unify a team, and delegate work effectively.
- Ability to train, coach, and evaluate subordinates to help them reach their maximum potential.
- Strong organizational capabilities to assign shipping, receiving, and data tracking duties based on team strengths.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills to give direct instructions and coordinate with other departments like production/assembly.
- Self-motivation to solve shop-floor problems and direct workflow with minimal oversight.
- Advanced working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems
- Deep understanding of forecasting, budgeting, and inventory optimization techniques. Experience with Fishbowl inventory management system a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced schedule-driven environment. Timing is a critical function and is the key value that SAI provides to our customers.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
