Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an experienced inventory and purchasing professional to manage stock levels and procurement procedures at 45 Fruit Street, onsite. This role helps ensure on-time deliveries, optimal material flow, and reliable supplier performance.

You will lead a small team, explore new suppliers, negotiate terms, coordinate with product line staff on forecasts and orders, and enforce standard purchasing practices.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of directly related experience required.
  • 2–3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements.
  • Responsible for exploring new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery.
  • Establishes procedures and supervises the annual physical inventory.
  • Supervises, evaluates, and coaches staff members.
  • Interfaces with product line coordinators on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments.
  • Maintain relationships and negotiate with suppliers.
  • Purchase supplies and materials in accordance with specifications.
  • Ensures that the company's standard practices and procedures are followed for all materials department functions.

Summary: Responsible for managing inventory and purchasing procedures of raw materials and other supplies within a company.

Essential Functions
  • Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements.
  • Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery.
  • Establishes procedures and supervises the annual physical inventory.
  • Supervises, evaluates, and coaches staff members.
  • Interfaces with product line coordinators on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments.
