Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Materials Inventory & Purchasing Specialist to manage inventory levels, supplier relationships, and procurement processes within our hospital network.

Based at 90 Blossom Street in Boston, this onsite role supports forecasted demand, budget alignment, and continuous improvement of supply chain activities with a team leadership focus and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering required.
• 5–7 years of directly related experience; supervisory preferred.
• Strong leadership and forecasting/budgeting skills.
• Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries and meet customer requirements.
• Explores new materials, suppliers, and processes to improve quality, reliability, price, continuity, and delivery.
• Establishes procedures and oversees annual physical inventory.
• Supervises, evaluates, and coaches staff.
• Interfaces with product line coordinators on planning and forecasting customer orders to meet shipments.
• Maintains relationships and negotiates with suppliers.
• Purchases supplies and materials according to specifications.
• Ensures adherence to standard practices and procedures in all materials functions.
