Job summary

Carilion Clinic seeks a Materials Management Specialist I to coordinate the supply support system, ensuring availability for patient care. The role involves replenishing stock, picking, staging, receiving, and stocking inventory within the Materials Management Department.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED with strong communication and Excel skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team. A Virginia driver’s license may be required at community hospitals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years in warehouse or materials management may substitute.
• Excellent communication and Excel spreadsheet proficiency required; familiarity with automated procurement systems.

Responsibilities

• Replenish supplies to maintain par levels.
• Pick, stage, and process requisitions accurately and efficiently.
• Receive, inspect, and stock inventory items; assemble and replenish kits and carts.
• Transport medical equipment; operate related hardware and software.
• Monitor labeling, expiration dates, and packaging integrity.
• Coordinate requisitions, receipts, and returns per policy.
• Contribute to budget goals and inventory cost controls.
• Communicate with vendors, physicians, nurses, and other staff.
