Job summary

Upland Hills Health is seeking a Materials Management Specialist to lead daily purchasing and MM functions at the Dodgeville campus. You will train staff, oversee workflows, and ensure policy adherence while collaborating with senior leadership on performance metrics.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and vendor-relations skills. Occasional offsite travel and flexible scheduling support the MM team and operations.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills are required.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and have experience with procurement/inventory software.
• Must be able to lift/bend and be on your feet for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Train, assign, and oversee daily work in purchasing and MM functions.
• Educate staff on policies and procedures; monitor performance.
• Communicate with VP of Finance on resource needs and changes in scheduling.
• Identify and address MM issues; collaborate with leadership on process improvements.
• Maintain organization and manage multiple tasks within the MM Lead role.
• Support offsite travel for education, meetings, and oversight.

Location: Upland Hills Health - Dodgeville Hospital Campus

Role & Department: Materials Management Specialist in the Materials Management Department/Central Supply/Purchasing Department

Role Responsibilities:

• Trains, assigns, and oversees work performed on a daily basis within the purchasing/materials management (MM) functions of UHH.
• Responsible for education of new or revised policies and procedures.
• Keeps the Vice President of Finance apprised of overall Materials Management performance (i.e., resource needs, completion dates, changes/delay in scheduling, etc.)
• Responsible for monitoring productivity of Materials Management personnel.
• Demonstrates ability to identify and solve UHH Materials Management problems/issues.
• Oversees the research of Materials Management issues and discusses outcomes with the Vice President of Finance, as appropriate. Upon discussion, along with the Materials Management team, may implement changes and update Materials Management processes.
• Demonstrate excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple tasks within Materials Management Lead position.
• Provides general input on employee’s performance. Refers and provides information to the Vice President of Finance regarding issues or concerns which may result in disciplinary action on an employee.
• Collaborate with other directors/supervisors as necessary.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as necessary.
• Must be willing to travel offsite for education, meetings (e.g. SSM and RWHC) and general over-site of Materials Management functions at off-site locations.

Qualifications:

• Candidates must have excellent customer service and communication skills
• Be proficient on a computer, able to use Microsoft Office programs, and have experience with or be willing to learn procurement/inventory software
• Be able to lift/bend and be on your feet for the majority of the day
• Be detail oriented and very well organized
• Have the ability to develop relationships with many different vendors
