Job summary

Upland Hills Health is seeking a Part-time Patient Access Specialist to join the Patient Access Department at the Dodgeville Hospital Campus. The role involves verifying patient information, completing insurance verifications, and directing callers and visitors.

You will primarily register patients at the Emergency Department desk with some duties at the Main Admissions Desk. The position includes weekend and holiday rotations and the opportunity to work additional hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have excellent communication, organizational, multitasking, and computer skills.
• Prefer one year of experience in a hospital or clinic setting.
• EPIC EMR experience is beneficial; third-party insurance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient information and admit patients when applicable.
• Complete full insurance verifications.
• Receive and disperse incoming/outgoing communications.
• Provide information and directions to the public regarding Upland Hills Health.
• Handle incoming calls at the UHH switchboard.
• Work primarily at the Emergency Department Registration desk; may assist at Main Admissions Desk.

Position Title: Patient Access Specialist

Location: Upland Hills Health - Dodgeville Hospital Campus

Role & Department: Patient Access Specialist in the Patient Access Department

Hours & Shift: Part-time (.5 FTE) day shift position, every 4th weekend and Holiday rotation and the ability to pick up more hours.

Role Responsibilities:

• Patient Access Specialists will verify all patient information and admit patients as applicable
• Will complete full insurance verifications
• Receives and disperses all incoming and outgoing communications
• Gives information and directions to the general public regarding Upland Hills Health and Upland Hills Nursing and Rehab Center
• Handles the incoming calls at the UHH switchboard
• Will work primarily at the Emergency Department Registration desk and may occasionally work at the Main Admissions Desk

Qualifications:

• Candidates must have excellent communication, organizational, multitasking and computer skills
• Prefer one year of past work experience in a hospital or clinic setting
• Prior EPIC EMR experience is very beneficial
• Third party insurance experience preferred
• Ability to work with all contacts using good customer service relation skills
