Job summary

NHS Ayrshire & Arran is seeking a Materials Management Officer to manage stock levels and product distribution across theatres, wards and departments. You will work with ward product systems and liaise with the National Distribution Centre to ensure supplies meet clinical needs.

The role focuses on accurate demand capture, timely replenishment, and effective customer service to support patient care. PVG scheme membership is required and located at the hospital site.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with staff from the National Distribution Centre within Customer Services and Logistics.
• Be allocated a range of theatres, wards and departments, primarily responsible for the Materials Management Service.
• Based locally at the hospital with access to computer systems and equipment to deliver Ward Product Management service.
• Provide a service to twenty or more wards/departments within a typical working week.
• Review current ward stock levels on a scheduled basis.
• Initiate replenishment to agreed levels per NHS Lothian Supply Chain policies.
