Job summary

Magna International, Inc. in Brighton, Michigan is seeking a Materials and Logistics leader to coordinate daily material flows and ensure on-time unloading/loading of trailers.

You will supervise and train associates, maintain safety standards, and drive continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ideal candidates bring at least 3 years of materials/logistics experience, leadership skills, forklift operation ability, and knowledge of lean manufacturing and automotive

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent in manufacturing/logistics.
• Minimum 3 years materials and/or logistics experience in manufacturing.
• Prior supervisory/leadership experience.
• Experience shipping to OEM customers.
• Able to operate forklift and tugger safely.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and problem solving.
• Understanding OSHA safety practices.
• Familiar with automotive quality terms.
• Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office.
• Strong math, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexible hours.
• Capable of maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Physically capable of performing essential duties.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates daily materials and logistics activities of job assignments.
• Ensures container receipts and shipments are accurately tracked in systems.
• Ensures timely unloading/loading of trailers and window times.
• Holds daily pre-shift meetings to communicate requirements.
• Ensures TPM/Daily Care and safety checks are completed as scheduled.
• Prepares for next shift start and provides PPE/Supplies.
• Trains new associates and ensures adherence to standardized work.
• Ensures employees are trained and authorized to operate equipment.
• Follows 5S procedures and conducts LPAs as required.
• Implements corrective actions and continuous improvement actions.
• Monitors KPIs and escalates underperformance with urgency.
• Supports Kaizen events and value stream mapping.
