Job summary

Terracon in Springfield, MO is seeking an entry-level Laboratory Technician to perform laboratory testing and inspection of construction materials including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. Under supervision, you will document findings and communicate results to the Lab Manager and Project Manager while maintaining equipment and adhering to safety standards.

A high school diploma and a valid driver7s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history is required.
• Internal safety certifications must be completed.
• Internal soils certification should be obtained within the first 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observations.
• Perform soils and aggregate testing in a laboratory environment.
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
• Communicate information to Project Manager and discuss data accuracy for submittal.
• Submit documentation and communicate results as directed by Lab Manager.
• Progressively take on more training and responsibilities in work assignments.
• Maintain assigned equipment.
• Follow safety rules, perform pre-task planning, and report safety issues to management.
• Maintain quality standards on all projects.
