Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Materials Lab Technician in Beltsville, MD to perform testing on ready-mix concrete and related construction materials. You will prepare samples, operate calibrated lab equipment, record results, and generate reports for engineers and inspectors.

Qualifications

• Education – 1-2 years of experience in construction materials testing.
• Field of Study Preferred: Field, production, and laboratory setting with certifications such as ACI I, II, or related municipal authority materials testing preferred.
• Required Work Experience: Proficiency in using laboratory equipment, performing ASTM standardized tests, and understanding material properties.
• Additional Requirements: Ability to identify and resolve equipment issues; ability to analyze data; adherence to PPE safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct various physical and chemical tests on materials such as concrete, mortars, cements and admixtures.
• Prepare samples for testing, including collecting, weighing, and processing materials.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensure calibrated instruments function properly.
• Accurately recording test results, documenting procedures, and preparing reports for engineers and inspectors.
• Ensure quality and accuracy of testing results, maintain a clean lab and follow safety protocols.
• Assist with inventory management and other laboratory tasks.
