Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a laboratory technician to convert field samples into reliable test data under a documented quality system. You will work with calibrated equipment and maintain accountability for every result that leaves the lab.

Your role includes performing standard ASTM tests, logging samples, preserving chain of custody, and reporting strength results the same day. You will train toward proficiency and accreditation programs while supporting field sampling as needed.

Qualifications

• Careful hands and clean documentation habits are required.
• Prior lab or CMT experience is a plus, not required—we train.
• Comfortable with repetitive precision work and following procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform ASTM D698, D1557, D2216, D4318, C136, and C39 testing.
• Maintain calibration, standardization, and quality records.
• Log samples and preserve chain of custody.
• Break cylinders and report strength results same day.
• Support proficiency sample programs and accreditation assessments.
