Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Materials Laboratory Specialist to advance materials science and manufacturing process development. You will prepare metallurgical samples, run characterization and chemistry experiments, and assist with casting trials in a collaborative laboratory setting.

The role involves operating and maintaining lab equipment, collecting high-quality data, and solving technical challenges. A relevant degree with lab experience and strict safety practices are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in a technical field with 1 year of related experience or 6+ years of relevant experience with a high school diploma.
• At least 1 year of safe chemical handling and laboratory safety practices.
• Experience with laboratory, manufacturing, or industrial equipment.
• Ability to work with Export Controlled information.

Responsibilities

• Prepare metallic samples for metallurgical and microscopic evaluation.
• Support materials characterization, including optical microscopy.
• Conduct laboratory testing, data collection, and documentation.
• Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment and test systems.
• Support casting trials and process development, including post-trial analysis.
• Troubleshoot equipment and implement practical solutions.
• Manage multiple lab projects with engineers and operations teams.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant lab environment.
