Job summary

Lincotek Surface Solutions is seeking a dedicated Metallurgical Lab Technician to support the production area through analysis and reporting of metallurgical results for both production and development parts.

The role involves operating specimen preparation equipment, performing materials analyses, and maintaining lab data and inventory. You will collaborate with Engineers and Managers while following safety and quality procedures on the manufacturing floor.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering or relevant field, or 2-year degree with 2 years of related work experience.
Basic Laboratory skills.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical drawings.

Responsibilities

Operate equipment for cutting, mounting, embedding and polishing for preparing metallographic samples.
Test LPCS, APS, HVOF, PACK, CVD, stripping, brazing, welding, laser drilling and shaping technologies as directed.
Gather and enter data into Laboratory Register.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Interpret part cut-up drawings.
Operate optical microscopy for analyses of materials.
Multitask while performing prep-work and analysis efficiently.
Conduct testing on new consumable materials.
Manage the internal Laboratory warehouse.
Work with Engineers and other Managers on development projects.
Adhere to the Company's Quality and Safety System procedures and requirements.
Analyze and discuss lab results and reports.
Manage consumable supplies.
Performs other duties as assigned
