Job summary

Wieland North America, Inc. is seeking a Lab Technician (Casting) in Buffalo, NY, onsite. The role involves operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment (OES, XRF, LECO, ICP, FTIR) to ensure accurate testing and reliable results.

You will inspect samples, perform analyses, and document results in accordance with ISO/IATF standards. Qualifications include a STEM degree or an associate degree with 1 year lab experience; chemical lab experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or an Associate degree with 1 year lab experience.
• Chemical laboratory experience preferred.
• Experience operating, calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining analytical lab equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of lab testing methods and analytical instrumentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accurate, reliable results.
• Follow written procedures, maintain records, and work safely in a lab environment.
• Familiarity with ISO/IATF quality management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate, standardize, troubleshoot, and maintain lab analytical equipment (OES, XRF, LECO, ICP, FTIR).
• Perform preventive maintenance and replace components to ensure reliable lab operations.
• Conduct chemical and material analyses using various techniques.
• Inspect samples for surface defects and determine corrective actions.
• Support automated lab operations with manual testing when required.
• Document test results and maintain lab records per quality standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement and support ISO/IATF/Iso standards.
