Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking a Materials Engineering Technician to provide lab support for materials characterization and failure analysis of heavy-duty powertrain components in Detroit, MI. The role supports equipment maintenance and inventory processes in a hands-on lab environment.

Applicants should have 3 years of relevant experience or an AA degree with 1 year of related work. Strong attention to detail and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant experience or AA degree + 1 year of relevant experience.
• Familiarity with heavy-duty powertrain components.
• Ability to operate heavy-duty sectioning equipment and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for Materials Engineers conducting materials characterization and/or failure analysis investigations via testing, sectioning, and sample preparation of heavy-duty powertrain components.
• Support laboratory equipment preventative maintenance programs.
• Support laboratory processes such as inventory management, consumable purchases, quality initiatives, etc.
