Job summary

DTNA is seeking a Materials Engineering Technician in Detroit, MI to support characterization and failure analysis for heavy-duty powertrain components. The role entails sampling, testing, and sectioning, with emphasis on maintaining laboratory equipment and processes.

The position requires 3 years of experience or an AA plus 1 year, with strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex work plans. Onsite work in Detroit, with relocation not offered for this posting.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant experience or AA degree + 1 year of relevant experience.
• Familiarity with heavy-duty powertrain components.
• Familiarity with and be comfortable with heavy-duty sectioning equipment such as industrial band saws, enclosed chop saws, and other industrial equipment and environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for DTNA Materials Engineers conducting materials characterization and/or failure analysis investigations via testing, sectioning, and sample preparation of heavy-duty powertrain components
• Support laboratory equipment preventative maintenance programs
• Support laboratory processes such as inventory management, consumable purchases, quality initiatives, etc.
