Job summary

Daimler Truck North America LLC. in Detroit, MI is seeking a Materials Engineering Technician to join the Materials and Process Technology (MPT) team.

The role supports materials characterization and failure analyses on heavy-duty powertrain components to drive quality and reliability. Qualified candidates have 3 years of relevant experience or an AA degree with additional experience, with hands-on familiarity with heavy-duty equipment and a strong focus on detail and safety in a lab setting.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant experience or AA degree + 1 year of relevant experience
• Familiarity with heavy-duty powertrain components
• Familiarity with heavy-duty sectioning equipment and industrial environments
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex work plans
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

• Provide support for DTNA Materials Engineers conducting materials characterization and/or failure analysis investigations via testing, sectioning, and sample preparation of heavy-duty powertrain components
• Support laboratory equipment preventative maintenance programs
• Support laboratory processes such as inventory management, consumable purchases, quality initiatives, etc.
