Job summary

Sterling Engineering, Inc. in Sidney, NE seeks a Materials Manager to oversee inventory accuracy and cycle counts while ensuring supplier and customer contract and material compliance. You will plan and order materials to support production across locations and inventory cribs.

Responsibilities include reviewing inventory levels, issuing purchase orders, and coordinating monthly cycle counts. Lead a team, analyze forecasts, and collaborate with Engineering on packaging improvements and drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Two+ years in inventory control or related role.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with forecasting, planning and budgeting.
• Manufacturing experience is required.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and order materials to support production across locations and inventory cribs.
• Review inventory levels and planned demand to create purchase orders.
• Communicate with customers to ensure orders are fulfilled on time.
• Oversee inventory cycle count program with monthly counts.
• Analyze inventory and demand reports for 12-month forecasts.
• Partner with Engineering on packaging improvements and drawings.
• Provide backup support for indirect purchasing and shop floor orders.
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate team members.
• Assist with physical inventory activities.
