Job summary

The Army & Air Force Exchange Service, the Exchange, seeks a skilled warehouse associate to perform duties across receiving, storage, order selection and shipping at a distribution center in Texas. You will use a VDT/PC to access data and may operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment under licensing rules.

Under general supervision, you will assist in training and developing associates while ensuring accuracy and safety within a fast-paced distribution environment.

Qualifications

• Completes high school or equivalent. Education may be substituted with related experience on a 9-month for 9-month basis.
• Six months progressively responsible general experience plus at least six months in receiving, storing or shipping merchandise and processing documents in a mechanized distribution center.

Job description

Under general supervision at a warehouse management system (WMS) distribution center, performs a variety of skilled warehousing duties in either receiving, storage, order selection or shipping. Will use a VDT/PC to perform select computer applications or determine data available from inquiry screens. May use a forklift, pallet jack or other materials handling equipment (MHE) to include conveyors. Assists in the training and development of associates.

Job Qualifications

Education: Completion of high school or the equivalent. Creditable job-related experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a 9-months for 9-months basis. Experience: Six months progressively responsible general experience plus a minimum of six months specialized experience in receiving, storing or shipping merchandise and processing documents in a mechanized distribution center. Operation of MHE or motor vehicles is subject to prescribed licensing requirements. If a sufficient number of qualified candidates do not apply, the minimum qualifications may be lowered without reposting.
