Job summary

Aafes in the United States is seeking a warehouse associate under minimum supervision to perform skilled duties in receiving, storage, order selection, or shipping at a busy distribution center. This role requires precise handling and accountability for inventory movements.

You will operate turret trucks or other lift equipment as required and assist in developing and training other associates on the use of technical equipment. Strong attention to safety and process adherence is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; substitution allowed for related experience on a 9 months for 9 months basis.
• At least 1 year of general experience and 1 year in receiving, storing or shipping merchandise.
• Licensing requirements for operation of materials handling equipment.
• If not enough qualified applicants, minimum qualifications may be lowered without reposting.

Job description

Under minimum supervision at a warehouse management system (WMS) distribution center, performs a variety of skilled warehousing duties in either receiving, storage, order selection or shipping. Uses a turret truck or other type of lift trucks as required. Performs repetitive tasks such as put away and let down of merchandise and properly accounts for the items. Assists in the development and training of other associates on the use of the technical equipment.

Job Qualifications

Education: Completion of high school or equivalent. Creditable job-related experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a 9 months for 9 months basis.

Experience: One year progressively responsible general experience, plus a minimum of one year of specialized experience in receiving, storing or shipping merchandise and processing documents in a mechanized distribution center. Operation of materials handling equipment or motor vehicles is subject to prescribed licensing requirements.
