Job summary

Quanex is hiring a Material Handler at our Winnebago, IL facility to move finished goods safely and efficiently, load trucks, and support shipping documentation.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or better and be able to work the night shift (10:45 pm – 7:15 am). The role requires good reading, computer skills, and forklift operation capabilities.

Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Ability to work 10:45 pm - 7:15 am.
  • Good reading ability, including packaging layouts.
  • Good computer proficiency with multiple systems.
  • Ability to operate forklifts.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and stock finished goods and pull customer orders.
  • Scan finished goods when received, stocked, moved, and shipped.
  • Record/print inventory activity information.
  • Enter and print shipping documentation.
  • Load trucks with packaged finished goods.
  • Assist with packaging finished goods, as necessary
  • Adhere to established standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines.

This position is part of a team responsible for moving finished goods around and out of the facility in a safe, timely and efficient manner.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Receive and stock finished goods and pull customer orders.
  • Scan finished goods when received, stocked, moved, and shipped.
  • Record/print inventory activity information.

  • Assist with packaging finished goods, as necessary
  • Adhere to established standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines.

Your Credentials:

  • A high school degree, or equivalent.
  • Ability to work 8 hours, Monday – Friday, from 10:45 pm - 7:15 am.
  • Good reading ability, including the ability to read and understand packaging layouts.
  • Good computer proficiency with the ability to use a variety of systems.
  • Ability to be certified on and to operate forklifts.
  • Ability to perform the physical functions of the job, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
