The Materials Handler I assists in the day-to-day activities related to inventory control functions supporting pharmaceutical fill/finish operations. The main responsibilities include assisting with logistics such as receiving, shipping, data entry, inventory control, labeling, and maintaining all related cGMP documentation. Additional duties involve creating and updating log sheets and inventory cards, shipping activities, and managing all inventory movements including database updates, labeling, and documentation.

Job Duties

• Loads and unloads materials between dock and truck, moving materials within the plant.
• Processes delivered materials according to procedures, with attention to temperature-sensitive receipts, and delivers shipments accordingly.
• Prepares work-in-progress (WIP) and lot-specific kits supporting manufacturing.
• Processes manufacturing and shipping supplies as per procedures.
• Performs material sampling as required.
• Maintains accurate inventory logs and reports on inventory status.
• Attends semi-annual DOT and IATA training as required.
• Conducts materials handling in accordance with SOPs.
• Performs cycle counts, manages expiration dates, and maintains storage locations.
• Ensures operations comply with cGMP procedures.
• Completes chain of custody forms and updates receiving logs.
• Issues lot numbers to incoming materials following established procedures.
• Completes QC test requests for raw materials sampling and testing.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education, Skills, & Experience

• Minimum 1-2 years’ related experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to cGMP and safety policies.
• Basic math and computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
• Ability to prioritize, make decisions, and multitask.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently.
• Team-oriented attitude.
• Strong commitment to quality and excellence.
• Knowledge of ERP software is desirable.
• APICS coursework or certification is preferred.
• Willing to obtain DOT and IATA training/certification.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 4 hours).
• Ability to bend, stoop, and grasp objects.
• Ability to lift loads up to 50 pounds unassisted.
